Jet Skiing Down UnderTwo of Australia's best PWC information sources are PWC Australia and JetWash. These two sites contain such things as the latest news, articles, tricks, safety tips, message boards, club listings, event calendars, and great links to other sites pertaining to PWCs in Australia.
There are also numerous PWC associations and clubs in Australia which can provide you with information on where to ride and other useful information. The membership fee for most of these clubs is very nominal or even free. PWC clubs give PWC riders a way to enjoy their passion for the water with others who share the same interests. These clubs do a lot to create an interest in PWCs and to educate their members so that they promote a positive image for PWCs in their community. Pittwater Personal Watercraft Club prides itself on being Sydney's only social PWC Club. Their members enjoy weekly social events and group tours in and around Sydney to such destinations as Pittwater, Broken Bay, Wiseman's Ferry, Windsor, Sydney Harbour, Balmoral, Manly, Gosford, Brisbane Waters, and the Georges River/St George area. Jet Sports Club of Darwin was formed in 1998 so that people who share a common interest in jet skiing could go riding with others and enjoy the comradely rather than riding alone. Their site includes information on stolen PWC's from around Australia, a social calendar of events and descriptions and pictures from some of their favorite places to ride including Manton Dam, Fanny Bay, Mindal Beach, Mandorah, Darwin Harbour, Nightcliff, and Cullen Bay. Other clubs and associations include Australian Jet Sports Boating Association, Australian Personal Watercraft Association, Canberra Jet Sports Boating Association, Coffs Harbour Jet Sports Boating Association, Jet Sports Club of Brisbane, and Sydney Jet Sports Boating Association. The rules of the water may have changed with the coming of the new year. Before venturing out on the water, it is always a good idea to contact the local government to find out if there are any special requirements or changes to the regulations which will effect PWC operators. On November 19, 1999 the government in New South Wales (NSW) announced that there would be some changes regarding the operation of PWC on the NSW navigable waterways. These changes went into effect on January 1, 2000. The government in NSW has a great reference site which contains PWC Information including safety
