IRL Road Racing in 2005

The 2005 IndyCar schedule is pretty much the same as the 2004 schedule (with the exception of minor date changes) until the end of august when the Nazareth event was scheduled. The Nazareth Speedway will close after this season's August 29th Firestone 225 event. On the 2005 schedule, the Nazareth event that usually follows the Pikes Peak event has been moved to the Infineon Raceway in California. The new Infineon event will be followed by the regular Chicagoland Speedway event. Then, the new Watkins Glen event will be run, followed by the California Speedway event which will close the season. The second Texas Motor Speedway event which usually closes the season will be dropped from the new 2005 schedule:

  • 03/06 - Homestead/Miami Speedway
  • 03/19 - Phoenix International Speedway
  • 04/03 - St. Petersburg Fla.
  • 04/30 - Twin Ring Motegi (Japan)
  • 05/29 - Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • 06/11 - Texas Motor Speedway
  • 06/25 - Richmond International Raceway
  • 07/03 - Kansas Speedway
  • 07/16 - Nashville Superspeedway
  • 07/24 - The Milwaukee Mile
  • 07/31 -- Michigan International Speedway
  • 08/14 - Kentucky Speedway
  • 08/21 - Pikes Peak International Raceway
  • 08/28 - Infineon Raceway
  • 09/11 - Chicagoland Speedway
  • 09/25 - Watkins Glen International
  • 10/16 - California Speedway
