Not Sure Where To Start?

So you are new to the "genealogy on the net thang" and you don't know exactly where to begin with all this? Family Tree Maker has an awesome page for you. Genealogy Classes at http://www.familytreemaker.com/universit... has everything from getting organized to the finer aspects of the digital age genealogist. You'll appreciate their classes even if you are an old hand at Genealogy. I think there are a few of the advanced classes that I may have to dabble in. I wouldn't want to miss anything!

Rootsweb also has Genealogy classes. About every topic you'd ever be interested in is covered there. http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/ If you really want to narrow things down to this Irish Genealogy lark rootsweb has exactly what you are looking for at http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/lesson2... The class is mostly a loose overview of Irish genealogy and it's trouble spots. There is a cute page that Salute's Salute to St. Patrick and our Irish Ancestors http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/notable...

Last but barely not the least is Fianna. http://www.rootsweb.com/~fianna/guide/in... I've said it before and it will be said again. Fianna is probably one of the most complete sites for learning Irish Genealogy that there is.

I hope all of you who've not taken the plunge into learning about your family will take some of these classes. You can have a lot of fun studying the how to of Genealogy over the holidays and winter months. Then start digging up your roots using the Internet. Next summer you'll be ready for your Irish Genealogy summer vacation.

Remember to drop by the Irish Pub on Mondays and chat with Sean and myself.

Happy Hunting!
