The Archive maintains a page that has complete directions on how to reach the National Archive in Dublin. Bus routes and walking routes are covered. Print them out before you visit Dublin and you'll never get lost. http://www.nationalarchives.ie/readers.h...
Thousands of record collections are discribed on the pages of the site. You should go over them carefully before paying the Archive a visit. Plan out how long it will take to do your research and what documents you will want to look through. Remember that if you need a record that is housed at the Four Courts it till take until the next day for you to view them at the reading room as the Four Courts is not open to the public. Some of the records are in in storage and are not available immediately. Take these things into account when planning your visit so all will go smoothly.

When you get there, you'll have to apply for a Reader's Ticket. Follow all the rules! http://www.nationalarchives.ie/rules.html Failure to do so may result in getting your Reader's Ticket immediately cancelled. You'll also have to sign an Attendance Book each day you visit and record your presence.
