Surviving a Natural Disaster or Terrorist Attack

Survive a natural disaster or terrorist attack with unlimited fresh water from a "MSR MiniWorks EX Water Filter" and a "32 Oz. Nalgene Lexan Bottle".

There is no better investment than one that saves you life

Drinking water can be worth its weight in gold

Drinking water is worth its weight in gold if you can't get fresh water due to a natural disaster. I have

  • a creek a hundred yards from my house,
  • a 300 gallon hot tub in my yard and
  • swimming pools in neighbors' yards on either side of my house.
But none of that water is drinkable should there be a terrorist attack or natural disaster that takes out the water supply.

A portable hand pumped water filter makes it all drinkable!

This little device could save many lives if something terrible happens like terrorists contaminating our water supplies or a major Earthquake breaks the water lines.

Your Emergency Supplies

I STRONGLY recommend a reverse osmosis filter for everyone to have in their Earthquake, Fire, Tornado, Hurricane and Natural Disaster kits.

I paid $80 for a "MSR MiniWorks EX Filter". These are lightweight and compact enough for back packing. They have a ceramic/carbon filter that you clean and reuse over and over. Features:

  • Ceramic/carbon media can be cleaned over and over for maximum field life
  • Effectively removes bacteria and protozoa including giardia and cryptosporidia
  • Also removes chemicals including pesticides, industrial pollutants, iodine and chlorine plus taste and odor compounds
  • Bottom screws onto an MSR Dromedary® Bag or Nalgene® water bottle for easy operation (both sold separately)
  • Easy disassembly lets you troubleshoot and maintain filter in the field
  • 72 Pump strokes per liter

I keep mine in my van with a full "32 Oz. Nalgene Lexan Bottle" plus a few empty bottles so I have a way of getting drinking water from swimming pools, hot tubs, creeks or even standing water.

"

The reason I store it in my van is a natural disaster could burn down my house but the odds are my windsurfing van kept outside would not burn. I am considering buying a second one and burry it in my yard as a backup along with a small radio, flashlight, batteries and some canned sardines.

At 0.83 liters per minute output, you can filter enough drinking water for a family in a matter of minutes a day.
