The Internet "Community"

Language has always been an interest of mine. As a writer, it's important to choose the right words that convey your meaning. A slight variation of words and you could change the whole focus of your piece.

This sparked some interest as I was thinking about the word "community." It is most common to hear people call it the "internet community." Very few call it the "internet neighborhood" or "internet network," though in some ways that is what they are as well.

A community, by definition that applies to our case here, is "a group of people having common interests."
