Although I have been gone from the Suite for a bit, I haven’t stayed away from the net. Between working and family obligations, I still made a point of wasting time on the net. (Hmmmmm…..wash dishes or play games on the net. Oh what a hard decision to make.) Actually I probably would be accomplishing a whole lot more in my personal life if I would stay away from the net but then I would go thru withdrawal and what good would I be then? Ok, now that I have reaffirmed my slacker status, read on to find out more about my latest obsession.

This time I am going to tell you about iwin.com. This is one of those sites where the objective is to earn points (here it’s “icoins”), by playing games or referring friends, and then, if you like, use your winnings to enter drawings for prizes.

iwin.com is part of the Uproar Network of games sites. (And if you ask me, I haven’t seen too much of a difference between playing at uproar.com and iwin.com other than layout.) According to the uproar.com corporate information page, “Uproar Inc. sites include: uproar.com, a leading online entertainment destination offering games and game shows; iwin.com, a leading games-for-prizes and Internet lottery site; and amused.com, a site featuring humor and entertainment.” Plus they just merged with flipside.com.

The site lists 72 games and here’s a quick sample for your review: There’s casino games (i.e. slots, video poker, black jack, roulette), arcade games (Battle Rox - similar to Asteroids, BeatDrop - similar to Tetris, Treasure Hunt, Rat Race - similar to Pac Man), puzzles (Word Search, Hangman, Think Fast - a memory game), board games (Mahjong, Killer Dice - similar to Yahtzee), trivia games, card games (Solitaire, Hearts, Go Fish, War), games of chance (Bingo, Lotto, Keno), and multiplayer games (Family Feud, To Tell the Truth, Chinese Checkers).

My favorite game to play is the Cash Jackpot Video Poker. It’s not really for the cash (about $5.00) but for the large amount of icoins you can get with playing one game (500 icoins for minimal playing time). Although I enjoy playing this game and other highly intensive graphic games like slots, the drawback is that I can only play for so long before it makes my computer freeze and I lose any points I accumulated AND I have to reboot my computer. I suspect that most people have experienced this same problem.
