Everybody "jamba"!The Internet Playground is taking an international turn this week in visiting "jamba" of the UK. It is similar to most sites reviewed here in that it consists of a variety of games and a chat feature designed to make everyone happy. But once you start playing, I think you'll discover the subtle differences between this site and the commercial US sites. "jamba" consists of three sections - jumbo jamba, jamba dips, and bar jamba. "Jumbo jamba" offers bingo (turn on your speakers for this game), a couple of word games and a film-making trivia game called "That's a Wrap". (I really like this game and think that I am addicted to it!) In this game, players, starting with a million dollar budget, choose what type of movie they want to direct, who's going to star in it, who's going to edit it and how it will be marketed. A million dollars sounds like a lot but you'll see how fast it disappears. There are additional opportunities throughout the game to boost the success of your movie. While the film is in production, players are presented trivia questions that, when answered correctly, buys time at the end of the game to answer MORE trivia questions. Then after the movie is finished, the profit of your movie is determined by how many trivia questions you answer correctly. In this game it really helps to know a little something about movies. "jamba dips" is a section of games that can be played quickly if you are short on time. Here you can find some solitaire games, trivia games, and word games - but beware, the word games have a higher level of difficulty than what you will find on most commercial US sites. The last section, "bar jamba" offers something that I have not yet seen on US sites - a dart game! It is fun to play but I didn't understand how the scoring works so I really had no idea what I was doing. (The only thing that I do know about the game is that you have to get the dart on the board.) This section also has dominoes (another one I had a hard time figuring out), trivia, and a section for jokes. Maybe this is the type of stuff that you would see in an English pub? You need to register to play the games at "jamba". I didn't have any qualms about this because they use my information to keep a running score in a couple of the games. Also, they need your information in case you win a prize. BUT you need to be a resident of the UK to receive it. So if you are not from the UK and all you want to do is win prizes, you better scoot along. Otherwise, please visit the site and enjoy this cultural moment that the Internet Playground has brought to you today.
