Newbies and seasoned newbies please come with me as I reminisce about the site that started the Internet Playground. Do you remember when you first started exploring the WWW? Remember how EVERYTHING was cool and different? Well stick around folks because I'm going to tell you about something that will make you want to start your own playground too.
I first started using the WWW in 1995. The Playground was born in 1996 when I found Prizes.com. When I first visited this site I discovered that I was using a Java-"unenabled"-browser. (The seasoned newbies will remember this era). So even though I could not use this site I bookmarked it anyway. It was so cool and different that I knew I had to come back. I went back to the site after we upgraded our browser and I found something that I had never seen on the net before. What was it about this site that compelled me to make it the very first site of the Internet Playground? This site had modernized the low-tech concept of "scratch and win". I know this sounds strange and that some of you are looking at your mouse, keyboard, and screen and thinking "hello - not possible". This is what I thought too. Follow me as I show you how it's done. First, make sure that your speakers are on because you'll want to get the full effect. Then go to Prizes.com. You'll have to register some information before you can play so you can create your account of "winnings". Then pick on one of several games to play. These games either award cash or tokens. All can be played once every five minutes. There are other games besides scratch-n-wins, such as "pick the right spot" and a keno-like game, but for this article's purpose, we are only going to talk about scratch and win. After you select one of the games, a new page will appear with information about how often you can play the game, winning info, and a link to a disclaimer/rules/regulations. You should click on that before you play the game to make sure that you agree with all their rules. If you don't agree, you shouldn't play the game! If you choose to go on, click on the "I agree" button. The next screen that pops up is your scratch and win ticket. Take your mouse, hold down the left button (or right button for those of you who have set up your mouse for left hand useage) place the cursor over the ticket (keeping the left button down) and wave it back and forth - like you are scratching a ticket! Isn't that cool? Prizes will be revealed as you scratch and winning tickets will have three of the same matching prizes. Go To Page: 1 2
