The Dean’s List
George W. Bush: A
The Dean’s list must begin with George W. Bush. He has risen to the occasion in ways that no one could have imagined-especially considering how close the election was in 2000. He has presided over the greatest amount of pressure of any president since John Kennedy during his tenure. But his mark is only an A, as new problems stemming from the administration’s handling of the anthrax scare.
Tony Blair: A
He has proven why Britain is the most important ally that the United States has. It has shown that the United States is not alone that at least one other nation really understands America and what better nation than England.
Pakistan & General Musharraf: A-
Ok, he is a guy who rose to power via military coup. Right now he and his nation are more solid than any other Islamic nation in the coalition. Is he perfect no, but he is much better than our long time allies in places like Saudi Arabia.
Vladimir Putin: A-
Here is another surprise entry. Before September 11th he was just another ex-KGB man who happened to be head of Russia. Now he is breaking stereotypes all over and moving closer to the west than anyone could have imagined. And he looked most comfortable in Shanghai in his Asian shirt.
Donald Rumsfeld: A- The Students destined for Summer School Colin Powell: C+ France & Germany’s ‘Leaders’: C
The defense secretary has what Thomas Friedman of the New York Times
Way too much time whining about the coalition and why we can’t escalate this war to Iraq, again.
Typical responses from these two-when you really need a friend don’t call these guys. Sure they are helping with tracking down the terror networks (mostly because it seems like the entire plan was hatched in Germany). Surprisingly the people, at least in France, really are supporting the war (Just like most things it is the elitist leaders who won’t listen).
