He is the son of a wealthy Saudi family who couldn’t stand to be around him and I think much of that is because this man is so ridiculous. He is an evil man and needs to be dealt with but his absurdity exists on so many levels.
Perhaps it isn’t even absurdity-think crazy. Yes crazy, there is something completely crazy about grown men who live in caves and wave their fist at others. The world has claimed many things about bin Laden in the wake of 9/11. He is a coward, a terrorist, a genius, and an evildoer. But he is crazy and he is also a hypocrite.
Reports suggest that bin Laden is actually the puppet master behind the Taliban-giving the regime as much as $100 million dollars. Bin Laden or no bin Laden the Taliban movement is designed to eradicate modernity, women’s rights, television, pluralism, and the list goes on.
But there is Osama in a fetching camouflaged jacket with his gun. He has a Timex “Ironman” watch on, a microphone in hand, a television camera. He is not reading notes and looks right at the camera-does this guy have a teleprompter too?
“Let the whole world know that we shall never accept that the tragedy of Andalucia (ph) would be repeated in Palestine,” said bin Laden. Andalucia? Now we have heard many things from a variety of anti-Americans that it was US foreign policy that caused this. And Osama is talking about the Moors getting kicked out of Andalucia in the 15th century-so I guess were off the hook now?
“And there are civilians, innocent children being killed every day in Iraq without any guilt, and we never hear anybody,” said bin Laden. For the record, and I am sick of pointing this out, Saddam is swimming in cash right now-it is not our fault that he treats his people like Scrooge on a bad day.
He really doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation yet. “America will never dream nor those who live in America will never taste security and safety unless we feel security and safety in our land and in Palestine,” he said. Muslims will soon feel secure and bin Laden will not.
