Using the Web to Find Freelance Writing Jobs© Tracy Bowens
Although I'm not promising that I'll never mention the words "freelance writing" again, this is the final in my series of considering freelance writing as a source of income when you decide to make move overseas.
www.mediabistro.com Mediabisto.com is a haven for those in the media business looking for jobs. While the site is striving to become a resource for those looking for media related jobs worldwide, most of the present listings are in New York and most are full time. However, freelance opportunities do pop up every now and then and when they do, they are gems. www.freelancewriting.com Freelancewriting.com has a long list of freelance writing opportunities. It's a good site to check on a daily basis because there is almost always something new. www.journalismjobs.com This site provides solid job leads in its freelance jobs section. At the moment, checking this site on a weekly basis will probably be enough, but it should definitley be put on your list of sites to check regularly- www.sunoasis.com You may find some of the jobs listed on this site on other sites as well, but you may not. It still doesn't hurt to check this site at least on a weekly basis. www.elance.com I must admit that I have just signed up as a service provider on elance.com based on the recommendation of those who continue to rave about it. This site provides a meeting place for those looking for work to be done and those looking for freelance assignments. The service is free for those requesting, or buying, services. Service providers (that would be you) however, must pay (a minimum of $25) to have the ability to bid for the work. The price will vary depending on what type of service provider you are. Even though you have to pay, freelancers who use elance.com to sell their services say it is more than worth it. I guess I'll find out soon. Well, those are my top freelance writing job sites.
