In this article we will try to look the possible links between terrorism and human rights! Although it sounds shockingly, the idea originates from the General Declaration of human rights. More specifically Article 19 says that: “all people have right for the freedom of believes and freedom for their expression; this right includes…. the freedom to search, receive and distribute information and ideas by any means and regardless to state borders”.
So we see that even the legal framework was created by the “victims” (surely the above mentioned article bears a totally different meaning). At least we are now assured that human rights are as wide as the open sky and only the perception makes them look different.
This article is by no means in defense of terrorism, but an other perspective on the various visions on the origin of this plague. Hereby I would like to refer everybody to an article by Fareed Zakaria: The roots of Rage in Newsweek October 15, 2001 where an absolutely rational explanation of terrorism is given. Coming out of that it is important to say that in situation like this (freedom of thoughts and information) nothing could be done to eradicate ones thought and stop the flow of information in a globalized, information-full society.
And for remind to terrorist~! It is important to remember that human life is the highest value and any idea or thought should aim the eradication of life under any precondition. As we people live with each other in close relations our ideas and thoughts as well as deeds should if not stimulate at least not hurt other’s interests and way of life. A terrorist society is impossible as an idea of death can not win over the idea of life. And we may conclude that at least this thesis is correct in every major religion.
