Some thoughts about employment!Indeed employment is a hot issue nowadays, even so among young people. This is also seen from the results of the IV session of the World Youth Forum of the UNO system in Dakar, on which particular attention was paid to youth empowerment. If talking about global level we face a very very difficult task. In Europe it may be easier to cope (everything depends in what borders do we regard Europe). If it is just the EU than there’s no problem (I assume), as in market-oriented economy certain rate of unemployment is vitally necessary. And that there are jobs even in countries like Greece, Spain and Portugal is seen on the rate of “black” labour force, or those who come from non-EU countries to find illegally work to make for a living. The difference is that citizens sometimes do not wish to take up jobs if they can live on Social pension (this is also true for the youth). And I only suppose that they are so well of that instead of finding a job they organize demonstrations, protests and travel around the world to make the most foolish things. There is quite a big problem if Europe includes Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova etc, and even a bigger problem if including the Balkans. I would remind you that the social system is just in ruins, a minimum service sector has developed and there is a phenomena I call “brain-flee”. Just nobody wants to remain in these countries. In these countries people rebel only if the grip is to tight, nobody has time and the money to protest against IMF or USA or to waste pies for rebuked politicians. Anyway, a problem is given a solution should be found! Recently I’ve learned about a research of the Croatian Alfa think-tank called “YOUTH AS A FINANCIAL RESOURCE AND GLOBAL BANKING POTENTIAL”, which bares an idea to create a Global Youth Banking System. I suppose it will be a World for youth basis (it may sound a bit radical and intolerant). But I like one expression from that research in particular: “as long as young people do not have financial and economic independence all the other cooperation with elders make them more and more dependent on the yesterday’s world”. I think it’s a good idea, and by these means we may create a job for ourselves and not asking for a favour from the government. Any action of young people aimed at creation, assures the elder generation that “Young Power” is not a destructive one rather than constructive, tolerant and peace-loving.
