Human rights respect in Asia!,Human rights respect in Asia!

Today non european meeting, summit are held without some relation to human rights and in all documents and recommendations made by the UN, EU or Council of Europe in the preamble we’ll find reference to universal human rights. This is just in the contrary in Asia. So I believe it is time to raise voice, day-by-day on all levels (international official, NGO and just individual), for these unequalities. If more and more people talk about these things it is obvious that the day will arrive when those much suffered nations and people in Asia will also feel equal in comparison to their neighbours (and maybe to their western partners). Asian leaders try to act like their European and American counterparts do- to start integration processes. Here we refer first of all to ASEAN, APEC and the Shanghai group. All these organizations have in their nature political origin, although they try to reorient for economics and social affairs. It is hardly possible as in cold war era the region was characterized by US security efforts and the USSR and China to gain influence through undercovered actions. After the collapse of the polar system Asian states gained more freedom from the USA and conduct now more independent foreign policy that means that Russia and steadily developing China gains more and more influence in the region. So politics changes but it hardly changes the life of people. The worst is that, that politics remains regional without becoming a serious global determinant. The situation with China is serious and progress is expected in a very long scale and there is little power that could boost the shift of power (restrict trade relations and prohibit the slow but steady involvement into world political processes- it rather hardens those perspectives). There we find a case when people believe in the regime (and somehow are frightend to stand up in one voice against the misery) and won’t act untill similar to the SU processes happen (internal party miss-understanding). The so-called “rough” North Korea plays a tricky game by shading with the union perspectives the sight from its human rights violation and missile programe. When dealing with these state leaders of the west should be aware of that. Strange processes happen in ASEAN. A perspective integration organization as it is sometimes refered faces internal disintegration. The “unity” of monarchies (theocraty, absolute) and republics, democratic and authoritarian states seems hardly effective in mutual non-confidence policy. Member states are toren apart by separatist movements and the governments seem to support it (Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand) although in public they condemne the violance. All the declarations (in 30 years non of them was obligatory) cannot influence domestic policy from regional level that also prevents the implementation of basic human rights respect. And in environment where human rights, equality and personal freedom regarded as something imported and where people are used to respect and obey their lords and masters the west does little to persuade (force) asian leaders to do business not on the overall harm of the people but through collaboration with the west to absorb new method and use the new capital for the welfare of their people. In times of cold war embezzlment was easy to accept, but now when the IMF/WB controlls every step of the transition states and has real power to cut funds, it continues to support questionable reforms. The transnational corporations in their turn exploit every opportunity to raise more and more profit even through the violation of human rights.
