CNA is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya. CNA has operated since May 1991 and was started as an initiative of a group of Non-governmental Organizations and institutions to lobby and advocate for relevant policy changes on climate change related issues in Africa. It's mission is to improve the chances for environmentally sustainable and socially equitable development in Africa, in light of the serious danger of climate change, ozone depletion and desertification, with a sensitivity to flow of relevant information from the scientific community and NGOs worldwide to NGOs, scientists, policy-makers and the general public in Africa through facilitating cross-sectoral exchange and debate. The role of CNA is to facilitate information exchange and analysis of issues with the aim of strengthening Africa's many voices at local, national and international fora.
