Speed 3quick to tell me that my nails are just a bit too long to be doing any kind of keyboarding. She'll always ask if I have a project inhouse, or if one's coming up, to see if she should cut them back "just a bit". It's amazing how many wrong keys I hit when the nails are a bit too long. And how much faster, and accurately, I can go when they are a bit on the shorter side.
