In my last article, I covered some cool online video. Well, this time I want to tell you about some cool online animation.
The first site I want to mention is Distant Corners. I really don't know what to make of this site, but I still like it. You'll definitely need a fast (fast!) connection, because it was even kind of slow on cable. No description will cover this site, just open your mind and check it out for yourself!
Icebox.com is the closest thing I've seen yet to an online cartoon network. They have their own shows like "Zombie College" and "Superhero Roomate" among others. Check them out, there'll be at least one you'll like!
There are a lot of cool online comics made with Flash, and SciFi.com has a pretty good one called Eclipse. Famous comic book guy Stan Lee has his own site with lots of online comics too. Stanlee.net has mostly corny crap (like a comic about the Backstreet Boys *ugh*), but you might find something you like.
Hotwired Animation Express is a great showcase for animators! You won't leave without finding a favorite strip or animator, check it out! Some of the animators from Animation Express also work for Bitmagic. Overall, bitmagic's one of my favorite animation sites. They have software that sends you a daily dose of new stuff too! My favorite strips are "Don't do that" and "Progress from Above", but I'm sure you'll find your own. Check out the site, and if you like what you see, download the free software!
No article about online animation would be complete without a mention of Mondo Media and their great original shows. I usually don't care much for movie critics, but their "Thugs on Film" shouldn't be missed! Check out everything on the site, there's some really funny stuff there!
