Video Extravaganza!

Greetings!

Welcome to my article about great entertainment images on the Web. In these articles, I try to point you all toward great sites that have lots of entertainment images.

I'm going to detour just a bit from my usual subjects and focus on video on the web. This is going to be mostly for people with high speed internet connections, because that's the only real way you can watch a lot of this stuff.

The first place I want to tell you about is a very interesting site called ifilm. ifilm is full of independent short films of varying scope and quality. Some of them are really cool. If you like short film, this is a cool place to check out!

The next cool site on my list is Creepyclips. They have a ton of great clips from horror movies. I've mentioned this site before, but it definitely deserves another mention! All horror fans should definitely stop here at least once!

Being a webmaster of a pretty big entertainment site, I'm always scrounging around for good movie trailers that I can link to. There are a few good sites, but two stand out above the rest. The first is Excalibur Film's DVD Trailer Park. Excalibur Films is a U.K. DVD store that sells region 1 DVDs, and they have a huge collection of Quicktime movie trailers. From what I can tell, they encode them right from the DVDs. The other great spot is Bigstar.com's Broadband Theater, and it has even more stuff than Excalibur! Bigstar has just about any movie trailer you can think of (either in Realvideo or Windows Media ASF format), and usually in a few different sizes. They also have interviews and clips from new movies.

Another great site for video is Videodetective. I'm not sure if it's a search engine or a directory, but it's a great way to find cool video online!

One of the coolest places I've found for video is Broadcast.com's Broadband section. You can even watch some full movies online, like the original Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead III, Leprechaun, Warlock, Flying Deuces (Laurel & Hardy), Little Shop of Horrors, and more! More than anything else, I think this is an interesting look at the future of movie-on-demand internet.

Those are all pre-recorded video, I want to mention live video too. My favorite live video feed is Big Brother, I listen to it while I'm doing other things on my computer. Going to the website (Bigbrother2000.com) and watching the feed embedded in a web page is okay, but I prefer to use my Realplayer. Also it's a pain in the ass to switch cameras on the site. I just go to the feed with all four cameras at once and then pick one! Here's the address to feed into your Realplayer:
