Finding Images

Greetings!

Welcome to my article about great entertainment images on the Web. In these articles, I try to point you all toward great sites that have lots of entertainment images.

Image Sources and my personal site are two of the best image finding resources on the web, especially entertainment related images. There are other places out there that will help you find images too, and I'll talk about them in this article.

I've been on the web for quite for quite a few years now, and up until about six months ago I never bothered with newsgroups. Well, I'm into newsgroups now and I've found a cool one that can help you find an image you're looking for. alt.binaries.clip-art is a great spot, especially if you're working on a graphic project and need an element to finish it. If you need a rusted metal texture, a picture of a hand, or anything else, just ask here. There's no guarantee that someone has it and will post it for you, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If you need a picture of something, try this newsgroup.

I've touched on image search engines before, but I've found some improvement lately. If you're going to use an image search engine, the one I'd recommend is AltaVista Image Finder. It's great for finding pictures from movies and tv shows. I really love their disclaimer - "Freedom of expression can be inspiring and threatening. Some pictures on the World Wide Web may offend you. AltaVista does not accept responsibility for all of the content available on the Web." As a matter of fact, I think I might use something similar in every future Image Sources article.

Now, as you should know if you're a regular reader of these articles, I think every movie and tv show should have graphical representation on the web. Some great movies and shows barely have any pictures on the web. I try to help fix that whenever I can, so here are a couple of cool links. First is the great new time travel show called 7 Days. The show is really great, and it's almost impossible to find any good pictures from it on the web. Well, I've added the show to my tv section, and if you've ever been to my site, you know I always have cool pictures for everything there. Check out 7 Days! The other link I want to mention is for the great movie Total Recall. This is one of my favorite movies, and there are only a few small sites with mostly low quality pictures out there. Well, as of this writing I'm working on the coolest Total Recall site ever. It's about 90% finished right now and should be completely finished soon! I haven't even linked it up to my site yet, but as a reader of Image Sources you can have an advance look at the site! If you find anything incomplete, or any images missing, don't worry. Like I said, it's not totally finished yet. Check out my Total Recall site here!
