The Graphic Artists Guild

Membership in the Guild provides access to affordable health care, discounts on art supplies, direct marketing assistance, and subscriptions to the national Guild News and local chapter newsletters. There’s no doubt membership in the Graphic Artists Guild provides fantastic benefits to visual artists in enhancing their careers and feeling part of a supportive group. An artist’s life is lonely and bewildering at times; the Guild is a great antidote.

Summary

The Graphic Artists Guild recently started a chapter to serve the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area. Previously artists in this geographical area were served by the At-Large Chapter which is available to any artist without a chapter close to home. Through the At-Large Chapter, artists are free to take advantage of the Guild’s many services, and form a group of like-minded business people if possible. But the formation of the Baltimore/D.C. Chapter gives artists in my home town a deeper feeling of permanence, stability, and belonging than the At-Large designation. I’m excited to think I may be able to help this chapter with finding a home base for meetings and get-togethers.
