Solving the Riddle of the Rosetta Stone


Rosetta Stone
as a spoken language.

Champollion continued to successfully translate the hieroglyphs, and after much work he could read the whole text. Deciphering the Rosetta Stone opened up an understanding of the ancient Egyptians. The language of ancient Egypt had been a riddle to scholars for many hundreds of years. The Rosetta Stone solved the riddle.
