The Benefits of Hypnosis© T. Darlene Cheek, CHt.
Every smoker in the world has heard of hypnosis as the easiest and most effective way to quit. That's how I learned about hypnosis myself! I wasn't your typical smoker. I waited until I was 29 years old to ever even try a cigarette (during my brief stint as a "bad girl"). Unfortunately, with my addictive personality, I soon got up to 3 packs a day, and then 4 packs a day (believe it or not) and absolutely could not quit!
Lucky for me, I ended up working as a Chiropractic Assistant, and the Registered Nurse in our office had quit smoking using hypnosis. She went to one of the group seminars that cruised through our area, and two hours later emerged as a non-smoker. How long did it last for her? As of the time I knew her, she had been smoke free for four years! So, I called a Hypnotherapist in my area to check prices, and their price was quite a bit out of my range. So I went and got myself a hypnosis book. My first book was Hypnosis for Beginners by William W. Hewitt. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in learning more about hypnosis. I also have to say that it didn't quite teach me everything I needed to know to stop smoking by myself. There are a few "tricks of the trade" that folks don't share with you, so my search for information on this subject continued. As fate would have it, I ran across a small add in our local paper that said, "Learn Hypnosis." My mother-in-law and the teacher of the class both helped me pay to take the course, and I have to say that it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me! I stopped smoking the first day of the hypnosis course, with a simple little 5-minute technique. Granted, I'm highly suggestible, but it certainly shows how easy and effective hypnosis can be. This wasn't the end of my road to healing, however. I've used hypnosis for every part of my life - body, mind, and spirit. Now that I know the little secrets and techniques, hypnosis is easy to use, and its possibilities are endless! Here's a small example of what hypnosis can do: Go To Page: 1 2
