Three years of physical and emotional abuse came to a screeching halt for this couple. John and Karen did not get help. Their marriage ended with him poinMariam shotgun at the back of Karen's head. Mariam, Karen's mother stopped John from pulling that trigger just seconds before it would have been too late.

My plea is, do not wait until it is too late for you. Last year, my article about sympathy was written with the same purpose as this article... I am sending a message to all those who are abused. Instead of continuing to stay in abused situations that cause hypochondria and illnesses of all sorts, take time to talk or write about what is happening to you even if you are afraid. Do not let fear keep you trapped in the piercing pain. Talk to those who can really help you instead of to those who will feel sorry for you.

Years of emotional and/or physical abuse plummeted upon a human being can bring scars that begin new sicknesses. One of these sicknesses is 'self-loathing.' Self-loathing convinces us that we are not worthy of a good relationship. That too is a culprit of using being sick in order to get attention. Gain self-assuredness by taking positive actions.

Do you realize that it is not just the treatment of abuse, that is the illness? Do you know that feeling sorry for yourself when done every day and for reasons to find comfort is an illness... one that can end, causing you to get well?

These piercing shards of pain, drawn here by Christian Lee, can if you seek help, become the sea of healing. Christian was inspired while drawing this illustration in a way that will be useful to abused people all around the world. His message speaks in the way that he uses the pencils to say, "write about your pain instead of leaving it stuffed inside."

I began this article by allowing you to look into the window of Karen's adventurous mind as she, in denial of John's abusive personality, fell in love with him. For those of you who could see through this scenario that the lady was entering a negative and frightening life, our hats are off to you. For those of you who believed John's behavior was cute, we suggest that you too may be on the way to an unhappy life. Stop the cycle now.

Let this beautiful vision Christian Lee has drawn, draw you into deciding to take care of yourself. Find help soon!
