What can I know about Hungary?

Hungary is a little country in the heart of Europe.

It's neighbours countries are Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Yugoslavia, Croatia, and Slovenia. http://www.hungary1.com/map.htm

Hungarian capital is Budapest (but not Bucharest). Here lives two million people. www.budapest.com

Hungarians are 15 millions. 10 millions people live in Hungary and 3 millions Hungarian in the neighbours country and 2 millions in other countries all over the world.

In this year, Hungary has a double millennium. The first is 2000, turning into the next century. The second is Hungarian state was established in 1000 by the first king Stephen I.

In Hungary there are a lot of interesting places: National parks, historical monuments from Romans, and Turks, a lots of medicinal springs, and a famous museums.

Hungary is very famous from a lots of things. Do you know the wine of Tokaj? It is the king's wine and the wines' king. This state is came from the French king Louis XIV, the king of the Sun.

Do you know the name of Ede Teller, Janos Naumann (computer), Leo Szilard? They were Hungarian too.

And what about Bartok, Kodaly and Liszt? They were world famous Hungarian composers.

Did you heard on Vitamin C? This was discovered in Szeged (it is a Hungarian town) by Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, who was a Hungarian scientist.

Do you know why rings the bells at noon all over the world? It is a memorial of a great battle at Nandorfehervar at 1456 when Turkish army was stopped, and Europe was saved from the Turkish occupation. Nandorfehervar was a Hungarian castle.

I think you often read with a ball pen. This is a Hungrian invention like dynamo, telephone central, carburetor and Rubic cube.

Lot of people does not know nothing about our country and our people not to say our history and culture.

The first electrical underground railway was build in Budapest between the city centre and the City Park. It's stations saved original architect.

You can find Europe's largest railway historical museum in Budapest too. And there you can drive an original steam locomotive which is unique in the world.

Are you heard this words before: paprika, gulas, csardas, csikos?

Hungary is part of the World Heritage with Holloko, and the Aggtelek Cave, and the panorama of Budapest with the royal palace of Buda.

I would like to tell you what I know and what do you want to know.

I am a descendant of 2 Hungarian Immigrants...my great-grandparents, and I have always had an interest/curiosity about Hungary. This is neat!
