Although the trees have burst forth in bloom and leaves begin to open up, the cold blustery winds continue to assail us here in Texas. And there is not one hummingbird to be seen! No, not one!
Still, just in case they should find their way here, my feeder stands filled to the ready! Waiting silently, looking so forlorn! Usually by this time it is ALIVE with activity...and I wonder...will they be back? How wise these tiny creatures are that they know so well when the time is just right! And I can hardly wait in the meantime! Until Green grass covers the earth...blue skies are filled with fluffy white clouds...and the sun warms the earth and all that is in it. Tiny birds fly happily about, playful and carefree intent only on that next mouth full! And I can quietly watch, lazily daydreaming. My awe at God's creations and the majesty of His world never falters. If only we, too, could be as carefree and full of faith as that tiny little hummingbird...Oh, how much happier we all would be!
