COUNTERS FOR YOUR WEB SITEIt would be my advice not to put a visible counter on your web site. It always amazes me when a site makes a statement that their product or service will produce thousands of hits and display a counter that shows their site has only been accessed a few hundred times. Another reason is that anyone who has been around for awhile knows that the stat counter can be inflated to whatever number you want to display just like starting a new checking account at number 5000 instead of 101. There are a great number of counters that are available free and that give great stats. I personally use web tracker which has both free and pro stats. A tiny icon goes on your page that you can tuck into a corner. You can then password protect your stats so that they are only accessable by you. Web tracker gives a lot of invaluable information such as exactly where your visitors are coming from, which browsers they are using, what resolutions, how many colors, number of visits by month, week, day, and hour plus a lot more. They will soon be adding keyword stats as well.
