BALLOONS – see the site above
FABRIC
Dracula: Dress the child all in black, pin a couple of yards of black material to his shoulders for a cape, add white face paint and slicked back hair. Bride: Buy a yard of netting. Gather one end and glue to a purchased headband. Glue flowers over the top of the band. Devil: Wear red shirt and red tights or pants. A yard of bright red material pinned to the shoulders of the shirt will make a cape. Use red face paint and eyebrow pencil for those devilish eyebrows.

CARDBOARD SHIELDS
A large oval flattened slightly at one end can become many things with a little creativity. Use poster board or cardboard and cut the oval to fit your child's size. For most uses it should be able to cover her from just below the neck to above the knees.
Knight: Cover the shield with aluminum foil or spray paint it with silver paint. Create a crest to paint on the front. Cut two small slits in the center. Put a small belt through the slits and fasten it closed. This will give the knight a handle he can use to hold on to the shield.
Angel: Make two ovals and cover with glitter. Staple a piece of elastic in a large loop to each oval. This will become the armhole. Staple a smaller loop of elastic farther down on the oval for the hand to slide through. Now the little angel can spread her wings or close them.
Bug: One large oval with pieces of elastic stapled on each side for armholes becomes the hard shell of any kind of beetle. Paint it red with black dots for a Ladybug. Many bugs have green shells or be fancy and spray paint your shell in gold metallic to become a Gold bug. Whichever bug you decide to be you can dress in the appropriate colors and add antennas made from chenille stems fastened to a headband.

The costume possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Here are some sites where you can find more ideas.
