Keep Graduation Safe

  • If they have been drinking do not let them leave drunk. Take their keys, get them a ride, or let them stay until they are sober.

  • Provide lots of food and soft drinks. Food will not keep someone from getting drunk but it will slow the absorption of the alcohol.

  • Be home during the party.

  • Many adults are not aware that if alcohol is served at a party in their home they are responsible for their guest's sobriety the same as a bartender is at a public facility. If you continue to let someone drink past a safe limit you can be held legally responsible if they leave and are in an accident. It is illegal to serve alcohol to underage teens even in your own home.

Make this graduation one that will be remembered for the good times everyone had not for the bad ones.

Congratulations to the Class of 2002!
