Home vs CareerThere was a time not so very long ago when a woman, a wife and mother, who worked was looked at with pity. A woman's place was at home taking care of the house and children. A man's place was in the work force bringing home a paycheck. Times changed. Women began to have careers. One paycheck was no longer enough to cover expenses. Women's rights and feminists were heard from more and more. And suddenly it was the stay-at-home mother who was looked at with pity. A real woman, one who cared about her own self-esteem, would be holding down a career instead of holding a baby. Now, some of us consider the woman who is able to stay home to be a very fortunate woman indeed. Three women from Denver have worked to put together a timesaving cookbook called, Don't Panic...It's In The Freezer! They developed their recipes to be made in triple instead of singly. It takes them only an additional ten minutes to three meals instead of one. Using their system you can spend from one to three hours in the kitchen a week and have a dinner to serve that evening as well as nine to freeze. After several weeks your freezer will have a wide variety of frozen meals ready and waiting. Cooking seems to cause the most stress for overworked women trying to do it all. That is because unlike other household chores it cannot be postponed. You can opt to do laundry in the middle of the night or not clean the living room this week, but children must be fed and they are hungry NOW. Another way to help you out of the time crunch is Meals In Minutes: Timewise Strategies For Smart Cooking. Lila Gault gives tips on planning, methods, assembly, shopping and using the right ingredients. Some tips: Go To Page: 1 2
