Spring is in the air! Can you feel the warmth against your skin and hear the birds chirping? Winter is finally over.

As most of us know, with spring comes the annual spring-cleaning. This article will give you general tips that won't take long to do. In the weeks to come, the articles will go more in depth with cleaning tips for spring that requires more time.

Before you begin cleaning, you need to have the right supplies. This is a list of supplies you will need for basic spring cleaning: paper towels, vacuum, all purpose cleaning solution, duster, trash bags, Lysol, white vinegar, and sponges. After all your supplies are with you, go to a room and begin. Do not leave the room until you're finished, unless it is an emergency.

Thoroughly dust the room. Dust often builds up during the winter months. Dust all your knickknacks, bookshelves, walls, and all the rooms in your house. Less dust will also help you and your family to handle allergies better. If your house or apartment has a lot of dust, an air purifier can reduce dust.

Clean the telephones, keyboards, tables, desks, light switches, doorknobs, and spot clean walls. Mirrors and windows need to be cleaned as well. To avoid ruining the wall backing, never spray mirrors directly with cleaner. Spray Lysol around too. This gives the room a nice clean smell, and cuts down on germs.

Throw away all your old newspapers, papers, junk mail, and magazines. You don't need them hanging around your house just to clutter it up. It's better off gone.

Polish your chrome fixtures to give them a shiny look, Here is a hint - Use white vinegar and rubbing alcohol with a paper towel. Polish and clean the figurines.

Carpets aren't the only things needing vacuumed. Don't forget the windowsills, bookshelves, and air vents, behind and under the furniture. Vacuum all the rooms of the house. Spring cleaning doesn't have to take your entire life. Follow these tips and you'll be well on your way to a cleaner home.
