Grocery Shopping

Grocery shopping is an absolute must for a family to survive. Some people love it and others can’t stand the thought of it. Whatever your case might be, here are some tips I gathered to make grocery shopping easier and less expensive.

Before heading out to the grocery store, please don’t forget to eat something. When you shop hungry, you are more likely to buy more food that you don’t need or even want. Once you are inside, start with the produce and end with the frozen foods.

Save your grocery shopping until dinner hours or after nine o’clock. The lines are definitely shorter. You can also try going before or at seven in the morning. Depending on the grocery store, you can find special deals early in the morning.

Coupons do save money. Whenever you see one, clip it and store them. For better organization, keep a coupon binder. In the binder, put pouches with differing labels on them. These labels can include – meat, personal needs, vegetables and fruit, treats, and so on. When you find a coupon, just stick it in the appropriate pouch. When it’s needed, it’ll be available for your use.

Grocery lists are necessary for a smooth shopping experience. Keep an ongoing list of things you need. This way when you run out or are running low on something, you can just write it down. When you’re actually shopping, try to stick as close to your list as possible. This will help you stick to your budget as well.

Buying store brands can help your budget. Store brands are cheaper, and in many cases, the same quality as name brands. Begin with a few store brand products and see how it goes.

Keeping an organized and clean pantry makes your life easier. You’ll see exactly what you need and won’t over or under stock on items.

Thanks to the Internet, you may even buy groceries online. This is more expensive, but less time consuming. You just purchase what you need online, and they are delivered right on your doorstep. http://www.grocerygateway.com/, http://www.peapod.com/, http://www.albertsons.com/signin.asp are just to name a few grocery services.

The next time you think about grocery shopping, please consider these tips and suggestions that I have mentioned.

The statement that coupons save money caught my attention. It is misleading, at best. If you are going to buy that particular brand at that time, a coupon will save you money, but otherwise it can be ...

My favorite shopping tip is to take along a tightwad. In this case, it's my 13 year old son. He knows the prices of everything, and if it isn't a good deal, he won't let me buy it. (He does all the co ...
