Released on Soundmen on Wax - Foremost Poets - Facing the Impossible (Main Mix b/w Facing the Dub), ;
Jazzy tracks with some vocals, trumpets, sax, and organ dominates this record. I like this cut because of its texture. It's good to mix with two records. Check out the dub version. Let Me Show You - Kenny Bobien - Soundmen on Wax - Spen's Main Mix, Moon-Raker, The DeePah Dub, Accapella Thang, and Bop Soul Delicious Mix [2 record set]; Patrick Pulsinger put a little latin sound to the Moon-Raker Remix. The vocals are great and the bass line is very smooth. In Spen's Main Mix there is a drum break also with good tracks and the vocals again are very good. D.J. Spen & Karisma put a lot of karisma in their version and pulls the tune right up front. Reccommended to open the evening with but will do very well on the dance floor. Donna Montgomery - Go Head Go On - Soundmen on Wax Original b/w Go Head Go On Vocal and Inst. Dub) Donna's done it again with this remix. Great vocals and remix by Jovonn. In the instrumental version the bass is very strong, a Da Da Dum sound to it. These versions are a great improvement from the orginal. Released on Tropicana Records - Canabis Dubs (Purple Haze, Northern Lights, Puerto Rican SES, Amsterdam Hydro) Not much vocals but the sound has a Jingo sound to the base with little breaks in it. Some vocals in the Amsterdam Mix. Again great with two records. Once again we're taking you back to some legendary moments inside of the Paradise Garage!!! One record that still stands out in my mind is "Affinity's", "Don't Go Away." This is a record for deep base and deep house lovers. If you were one of those who sat on top, or stood in front of the speakers, then you understand what I mean. This record consists of peaks, and dropouts, its exciting and a skillfully produced recording. Part of the lyrics, "Don't go away, don't leave me now, I thought your love was here to stay...", just tore up and exhausted the entire dance floor any time it was played. Speaking of deep house, how about Huge Masakala's, "Don't Go Lose It Baby" (dub version). Now this was unquestionably a record no d.j. would played until they heard Larry Levan play it. It has so much power, it would be considered a 'time to work out' record. As the trumpets blared the vocals chanted, 'Don't go lose it baby, which caused the dance floor to go in to a rage.
