RESPECT those Hot Peppers & "Ask Pepper Joe".Hot Peppers are Serious Business ================================ Hey, we all get a kick out of Hot Peppers right? I love tomatoes but have you ever heard of a Tomatohead? And I really like all vegetables but did you ever notice there are no Cauliflower Newsletters or clubs? There is something special about Hot Peppers that make us grin and want to talk about them and compare notes with other Chile enthusiasts. But like I stress in my Catalog, they are a lotta fun but treat them with respect and handle with care. I've touched sensitive body parts during our de-seeding process and man! Pure pain. The good news is that it goes away after several minutes. As much as I've built up a tolerance to eating Hot Peppers we just had a reminder to pay them homage. This past Sunday we had our traditional Sunday pasta dinner with meatballs, sausage and brasciole. Of course on the side were cooking Hot Peppers with olive oil and garlic when an important overseas call came in and we kind of forgot what was on the stove. Actually those Hot Peppers were Golden Habaneros which grow very well for us. They are larger than golf balls and bright, golden yellow. And HOT! I mean 3 weeks ago we had a big gang over and everyone was saying how hot they were. To me they were pretty hot but I have had hotter. Well here's where the humility comes in. Like I said we forgot in the excitement the Hot Peppers were still cooking. Well they overcooked and got seared to black on one side. The Hot Pepper vapors filled the house. Everyone went running out for fresh air and we opened all of the windows and doors. I couldn't stop coughing. We laughed about it later but those fumes were absolutely caustic. I mean intolerable. So it once again reminded me to HANDLE WITH CARE. "Ask Pepper Joe" ================ > Hi. > Great selection of pepper seeds.
