Along with all of the other services offered to the dying there is a relatively new phenomenon -peaceful music in the sick room.
Many times, one can encounter a harpist, flautist or violinist playing soft tones right next to the bed.
Classical music is not the only music that one might hear. The patient will likely want to hear the music s/he likes. One woman, I am told, really liked opera. At the last, her family had a baritone come in to sing her favorites. When preparing for my home visits, I will ask what type of music the person likes. I make sure I bring along a little something to add a high NOTE to the visit. Go To Page: 1
