A Gift to the Horse World

When she evaluates a horse's personality and inherent temperament, she looks at many facets of the horse's head, including the swirls on it. She looks at the horse's profile. For example, a deeply dished face suggests a nervous or easily spooked horse. She looks at the size and shape of the ears, eyes, jowls, nostrils, mouth and chin. Then she puts all these pieces together to get a better understanding of the horse.

There are some horses in this world that are basically ill tempered and mean. They generally have small eyes, small jowls, small mouths, narrow nostrils and their profile sometimes has a bulge in the middle. Many times however, a horse with large, wide set ears, big almond shaped eyes, big jowls, a straight profile, long mouth, and well defined nostrils will behave poorly and be labeled as ill tempered or mean. Such a horse is probably the victim of poor or abusive handling or is in some type of physical pain.

By sharing her insight and techniques with horse lovers everywhere, Linda has helped untold numbers of misunderstood/misdiagnosed horses live happy and productive lives. She has also helped many horse owners interact with their horses in safe and enjoyable relationships.

She also applies her skills to cats and dogs. I encourage you to read one of her books or attend a seminar near you! Visit the Linda Tellington-Jones homepage to learn more.
