The Four R's of HomeWorksAnd, from time to time, we will be looking at maintaining your home, which is like going in for a check-up. By keeping up with the maintenance of your home, your repairs should be fewer and farther between, not to mention less expensive. You will also gain confidence to tackle the larger aspects of owning a home as you learn more of how they work. If you're not sure where you want to begin, start by surfing the net. Not only will you get ideas of what kind of fixtures you want in your home (my dream toilet), but pay close attention to the background of the pictures...sometimes you will see something else that will get you thinking, like wallpaper or other elements. And don't forget to look around your neighborhood, or other neighborhoods, for houses that look like yours. You will develop new ideas for the way you want the exterior of your home to look. Yes, it may seem like a lot of work, but in the end you will have a home you can call your own...in more ways than one. And, if you choose not to do some of the work yourself, at least you will have an idea of what needs to be done and that could save you just as much money as if you did the work yourself.
