In my last few articles I have used a more direct projects method, just to get a feel for something different. I was unsure what {you} as the readers would prefer but I suppose I am back to my general approach for this one. This project that I want to share with you this week I came across by accident, but I have had a wonderful time creating these special angels. You can do any type theme at all with them, I have done several holiday ones as well as many for family and friends. These would be the perfect addition to any room in your home and I hope that you enjoy this project from the heart.
1 wooden craft spoon usually about 12 inches, auburn curly doll hair, hot glue gun, needle, thread, scissors, 1/4 yard of printed cotton material, 1 yard of 1 inch eyelet lace, raffia, acrylic paint in colors black, peach, red and white. Pink powder blush and a q-tip. 1/4 inch satin ribbon in white and whatever color that will coordinate with your cotton print you picked for the dress. Poly fil fiber stuffing, minature white roses, 2 inch foam brush, and a liner brush. Take the wooden spoon and base coat in peach with your foam brush, allow to dry. Take your liner brush and black and dot her eyes on, and rinse off and with the liner brush apply thin strokes in black for her eyelashes and paint a smile on her. Highlight with white with very fine lines on her black eyes. Take a q-tip and the powder blush and apply in a circular motion for her cheeks. For her mouth you are going to make a small red heart. Take your liner brush and dip it into the end of the red and make two dots very close together and with the tip of your liner brush pull down and you should have a perfect heart. Hot glue your hair on in small sections until you have the desired length. Now for the dress cut the 1/4 of the material in half and on one end fold over about ½ inch and sew on your eyelet lace, and on the other end make a running stitch and gather. Hot glue to the base of the spoon estimating where you think her neckline should be. Now for the arms cut a 7 inch by 7 inch square and fold over and sew and then turn it out and stuff with poly fil fiber. On the ends tie it off with your ribbon making bows. Now hot glue this to her sides and put a dab of glue on each end and put her arms together. So it will appear she is holding her arms together. Now make bows for the front of her hands and hot glue on and add the mini roses hot gluing them in place. Take several strands of the raffia and make a nice full bow, much the same as you would tie your shoe. Hot glue this to the back for her angel wings. Now take a piece of the ribbon and make a loop for a hanger and hot glue in place. Now you have a beautiful angel to adorn any room in your house! Happy Crafting :-) Go To Page: 1 2
