As the holidays grow nearer there are all kinds of things you can do to fill up your home with the warmth of angels. Personally I have a collection of porcelain ones that I only get out for the holiday season along with all the crafted ones that I make all through the year as well. I have only just begun making the porcelain ones and I love the unique charm they add. When we think of the coming holidays, I think the best gift you can give of yourself is something that you have artistically created with love. The best gift of all is the gift of yourself. I adapt that every holiday and I hope you will too. Christmas is a time of giving and what you give from your heart is always a beautiful gift. I know you have heard the expression it is better to give than receive? I have come to the conclusion there is so much truth in that. I love to make people happy and if I can by something that I have spent time on to make that is much the better.

There are so many things that you can put a spin on for angels and truly create a homespun theme. I have chosen a particular angel ornament for this article. These are more country and they are so easy to make.

The few things you will need for this project are polyfil, scissors, needle and thread, hot glue gun, curly angel doll hair or even some excelsior. You will also need a permanent marker in red and black, one fourth of a yard of any type Christmas material and a folded three-inch square of muslin, a piece of twelve inch gold pipe cleaner, and a pair of gold puffy angel wings.

What you will need to do is make a triangle type cut at the bottom and make the edges a little rounded, make this cut about five inches long and five inches wide at the bottom, tapering off to a two inch length at the top of the material.Cut out two of these or fold over your material and do it as so.For the head cut two round three inch circles out of your muslim material and make a running stitch and leave the top open. Do this same for the triangle you cut leaving the top open. Take the polyfil and stuff the angel parts, after that sew your parts closed that you left open . Hot glue the angel head to the body and let the glue dry.
