Holiday Ribbon Angels© Valerie Casper As I promised all articles now, til Christmas will have a holiday type theme to them. I actually really love these simple and easy angels and I am sure that you will want to make these for all the special people on your holiday shopping list. There are a few variations to this type of project, you can make these to freely stand, use them to adorn your tree and in some cases make smaller ones for ornaments for your tree. I suppose you could even make ones such as to put on your holiday wreath.
Well as usual there are a few items that you will need to get started on this project. You will need scissors, hot glue gun, six yards of two inch wired ribbon, a porcelain angel package which includes the arms as well. Some other accessories that you may want to add are holiday themed flowers and ribbons. If you want your angel to stand freely, you will need a nine-inch plastic angel cone as well. To help with your ribbon you will need some craft wire to secure your bow, and some pliers to cut it with, don’t ruin your good crafting scissors girls! First we will need to make the bow and I will try to explain this as simply as possible. Some of you may even have a bow maker and if so that is great because this should be a snap for you if you do. If not well, that’s ok too. Unravel the wired ribbon and in the center of your ribbon fold it over this will mark your starting point. Begin making big loops about four inch ones and make these for both ends and then after about six or so start making smaller loops until you run out or the shape is very full. Now take the wire and put it underneath and secure your bow start shaping it with the long loops down and the smaller ones to the top. After doing that on the top you will need to hot glue your porcelain angel head on and allow to dry for a few seconds. Underneath the large loops Go To Page: 1 2
