Raffia AngelsHere it has come upon me once again to contemplate another easy to make angel craft and I thought that these would be perfect with the coming of Thanksgiving around the corner as well. I plan to make the next articles until Christmas about all the Christmas angels which are my very favorite. Nothing like angels to bring you holiday cheer. When one thinks of the holidays how can you help but think of these divine creatures crafted or spiritual as well. With the holidays closing quickly upon us, I thought how wonderful it would be for this gift giving season to make angels for all of those around. We will need to gather a few supplies, for this angelic craft. This is a very simple creation of my own. You will need a large bag of raffia, a four-inch paper mache ball for the angel head, a bag of curly doll hair preferably blonde. Acrylic paints in colors of peachy flesh, black, white, and dusty mauve. A liner brush and a flat brush, a hot glue gun, scissors, and some white paper twist. Getting started first basecoat the paper mache head with the peachy flesh with your flat brush giving it a generous coat. Set aside and allow to dry. Take your raffia and take a nice big handful and double it over and tie it in a knot, Let the remaining strands cascade down, and make sure this looks nice and full. Now hot glue the paper mache head onto the knot you tied in the raffia, also hot glue your curly doll hair on next taking your time to make the hair looks very full and long. When you are done with this take your liner brush and black and make two dots for her eyes, for her nose take the black and liner brush and make a thin half moon stroke. For her mouth you may take the end of your liner brush and dot her mouth in black and it will appear if she is singing. Take the mauve and dot her cheeks with it giving her rosy cheeks. With the liner brush highlight her eyes and mauve cheeks with very light strokes. Now take the paper twist and cut a piece 4-5 inches long, and you may open it up a bit this will be her arms. Hot glue to the back of her head and knot the ends. For her wings you may take more of the paper twist and make a big bow and open the twist up and make it look very
