Oh, Wait....Before We Begin
A compass- so you know which way your looking.
A watch- many books will tell you what time a site will be able to be seen. Not to mention, someone always wants to know “how long have we been out here”.
A camera with a shutter that can be held open. A good camera can capture some of the sites.
For little ones a small tape recorder to “record” the event will keep them busy while you try to find the sites to point out to them. :-)
