Mix 1/2 cup cornstarch with 1/4 cup water plus color. Pour this mixture onto trays and use for fingerpainting on construction paper Try adding more cornstarch and see what happens to the mixture Playdough
Cook over medium heat until dough comes away from the sides of the pan. Once it cools, knead and store in plastic bag or jar. This recipes makes enough for four or five children and will stay pliable for several weeks if stored in an air tight container or sealed plastic bag. Playdough can be used young children but requires constant supervision. Poking, pounding and rolling are great fun activities for toddlers and twos. Three year olds can practice fine motor skills through cutting playdough. Fours and fives will enjoy creating various objects with playdough. Some things you might want to provide for playing with playdough: Playdough scissors (these do not have any sharp edge and are usually plastic, look for them where playdough is sold or educational stores) Homemade Bubbles Combine water and liquid soap.
