Here's a nifty fact...Prayer relieves stress! January is a time to focus on reducing stress in your life. You say, "I'm just a kid! I don't have stress. I don't even know what stress is." Stress is when you feel nervous or upset about something. Everyone feels stress at some time in their life. You can feel stress when someone won't share a toy with you. You can feel stress when your mom tells you to clean your room, but you would rather do something different. Stress is what makes you feel mad or unhappy. Stress is okay, when it is a little. But, not taking care of problems right away can turn stress into a really bad thing. It can make your tummy hurt or your head hurt. When stress makes us feel bad physically, it can turn into a habit. Sometimes when kids feel stress, they will bite their nails, twirl their hair with their fingers, or constantly put their hands in their mouth. These are habits that you can break.
Prayer is the absolute #1 way to relieve stress. Talking about your problems may not be easy with your parents, siblings, or friends. Sometimes we are ashamed of feeling bad, and we don't want anyone to know how we really feel. You can talk to God. He'll understand how you feel. In fact, He already knows when you are feeling down, and He is just waiting for you to talk to Him.
Find a quiet place, like your room, and take some time to tell God how you feel. Ask Him to help you through your situation. He will listen. He will help. He is your Father, and He wants what is best for you. You'll feel better, guaranteed!
Here are some others ways you can relieve stress:
I bet you can think of other great ways to feel great!
