More Great Advantages of HomeschoolingIs there a particular subject that you do not understand or just find boring? Oh, come on, most of us feel that way at some time. Homeschooling gives you the chance to learn something important, like fractions or predicates, and gives you the ability to master it before moving on. Lots of times you need to learn something to build upon what you will learn next. If you do not grasp fractions, for instance, then you may have a hard time learning fraction simplification. But, if you are able to slow down and really know your fractions, then simplifying them will be a piece of cake. Not all children have the advantage of learning at their own pace. This is a great advantage of homeschooling! Here's a neat reason that homeschool is cool...Birthdays! I give my children a day off school for their birthday. It makes them feel special (which they are) and gives them something to look forward to. Since I have one child with a summer birthday, he gets to pick his special day at the beginning of the new school year, and everyone seems happy with that. And, since my kids are friends with other homeschoolers, having a party during the weekdays is not a problem when places like Chuck E. Cheese's or bowling alleys are not crowded. Along the lines of special days, what about vacations? Homeschoolers have the advantage of taking a vacation whenever it is good for the whole family. We don't have to cram into Disney World during our Winter break or pack the malls during our Spring break with all of the other children off those weeks. Our family likes to take a trip to the mountains in early autumn to watch the leaves turn colors (and it doesn't have to be done on a weekend when everyone else in the world decides to go). We like to walk on the clean, sandy beaches when the rates are lower, and the crowds are thinner than in the summertime. It is nice to choose a vacation time that suits us! How about you?
