The Ultimate Homeschool Planner
The fourth section, my favorite section in the book, gives a systematic step-by-step approach to creating your own unit study. I can't express more strongly how helpful this was to me. I have always wanted (and tried a few times, unsuccessfully) to create my own unit studies. Now I feel more confident and excited to try a few! Of course, there are forms and reproducibles to help out with every step alone the way. Finally, section five is all about home management. Although this doesn't directly relate to homeschooling, anyone who devotes time to homeschooling children realizes the importance of a sound household management system. Not only are chores and household organization covered but there is also a great little reproducible provided to help keep us Moms centered and thankful throughout the day. Throughout the book are reprints and articles taken from other helpful homeschooling and parenting books. It is no surprise that these books are all products of Champion Press but the reprints didn't bother me or seem to "sales-pitchy". I actually appreciated having a bit of insight into these other books so I have a better idea if I'd like to devote time to exploring some of the other related offerings from this publisher. Bottom Line: Whether you are naturally organized or grasping for straws like the rest of us, this book will help whip your family into shape painlessly and with very little time or effort. The format is great, the resources seem endless and its offerings will last indefinitely!
