A Roller Coaster of Emotions

I just wanted to put in an extra piece of writing here, to thank all who voted for my communication article way, way back in February. I just found out-I've had lots of computer "equipment failures" this year, and I didn't even know until a few days ago about the article! So, even a few months down the road, I am still thrilled. Thank you all so much.

The rollercoaster aforementioned refers to being so happy about being selected. A few days later, the night before Halloween, I heard a thump on my porch, someone knocked on my door, and ran off. They had left behind a bag with two pieces of paper, one saying, "You Have Been Spooked" and the other having a long poem, stating I should make three more of the bags (which contained small toys and candies) and anonymously leave them on my neighbor's porches. I was not only spooked, I was chain-spooked. Acutally, for a few moments, I was tempted to call the police-I was actually scared by this! There was no name on the bag anywhere, and so we threw it out.

The next day, one of my son's friends (age 13) told us it was him who had "spooked" us, and we told him he'd done a darn good job. What is more unbelievable, this was conceived by his mother, a nurse! I hate to be overly critical of people, but I'm thinking someone spent their Fall vacation in Living Under a Rock Land.

So, there you see the rollercoaster I have been on. Thank you all again, for selecting my article, and I hope to be on the up side of the coaster again soon. The down swoop was a bit hard on my karma!
