As a side note, anyone of you reading this who have a degree in ANY field, with a desire to teach Public School, should contact Omaha Public Schools, and they will see to it that you become certified. Starting salary a tad over $24,000 per year. Honest It was on the news today. No one wants to teach here, because for the same amount of money you can be teaching in a much better climate. Who can blame? Of course, I could have a field day with the Public School System topic, but I'll not kick them while they're down.
The boys have been enjoying their precious bit of time off by running (Isaac) and being grounded (Jasper). It seems every one of the boys now has spent his twelfth summer of life examining the wallpaper in his room. I'm thinking when Tor gets to that age, we'll just send him to his room before we have any reason to. It will save lots of yelling. Jasper likes to not do his chores, and then fib about it. Which, as I recall, was the same malady that struck his brothers at this age. It is not easy to be twelve. Not a picnic to be the parent of a dreamy twelve, either. We are trying the John Rosemond theory of doing the chore for him, and then sending him to his room and not letting him out until the following day. It worked with his brothers, so we're hoping for the best.
Michael has gotten a little job, but it is not going as his stepdad and I would like. He worked one day as a volunteer for his dad's place of employment, and hasn't worked since. His dad says he did well, but I would like to see a lot more out of this boy. However, he has stayed out of his stepdad's face a lot more, not trying to challenge him quite so often. In fact, the one day that Michael did work, he came home and fell right to sleep. We asked him if working was harder than he thought, but he didn't have anything to say to us.
