Happy New Year!

yet again. I will try not to be boastful, just joyous. A New Year often has a bittersweet taste to it, and our New Year is no different. As I have written here before, Isaac wants to go to a Public High School. I have confidence in him and his values, so I try not to get too upset by this. I simply wish him well, and let him know what is expected of him, and that I am here for him if he needs me. Our Michael has gotten his first photo I.D. in preparation for official employment. We have also bought him his first real wallet, so he feels and understands he has achieved a status he has not previously enjoyed. We are preparing for him to begin driving, and he is very excited about this. It is hard to get messages through this fog surrounding the cloud he is walking on, but we keep on trying. There is also a rumor that he has a "lady friend" but we don't press him for details, as long as he comes home right after school, and doesn't spend hours on the phone or Internet with her. The first wind I catch of him having a relationship, I will invite her over for dinner. I believe in courtship and friendship, before anything progresses. Fortunately, my husband agrees with this totally, so the boys get the message consistently that we expect responsible behavior from them, no matter what. My husband and I have had many changes in our thinking processes, so we are still growing up. He finished his Heavy Equipment Operator Training for the Local 571, and has been waiting since March to be placed. For now, he is driving a truck for a hardware store (Yay! Store Discounts!) and is getting paid well enough to support us, and dealing with the idea that he may never get to live out his dream of driving construction equipment for a living, but he is doing a magnificent job of it. I have transformed from a stay at home mom to a got to work mom back to a stay at home mom, and let me tell you, people, it ain't been easy! Plus, I still am having a Heck of a time finding a professional driving school. They all want large stacks of cash, as well as saying they don't usually teach
