  • Bamboo fences are not permanent, but they are unique and adaptable to many garden types. They also are gaining popularity as a minor and relatively inexpensive do-it-yourself art form. A few reminders as you begin planning a fence for your yard:
    1. Check and double check your property or lot lines. If in doubt, have the line(s) surveyed.
    2. Investigate what zoning requirements need to be met for your community.
    3. Make sure all necessary permits are in order before beginning.
    4. Allow plenty of room on your neighbor's side of the fence for maintenance without needing to infringe on another's property
    5. And please remember: Fences need to be as attractive on your neighbor's side as on your side.
