Fences Part II © Georgene Bramlage

Bamboo fences are not permanent, but they are unique and adaptable to many garden types. They also are gaining popularity as a minor and relatively inexpensive do-it-yourself art form.
A few reminders as you begin planning a fence for your yard:
- Check and double check your property or lot lines. If in doubt, have the line(s) surveyed.
- Investigate what zoning requirements need to be met for your community.
- Make sure all necessary permits are in order before beginning.
- Allow plenty of room on your neighbor's side of the fence for maintenance without needing to infringe on another's property
- And please remember: Fences need to be as attractive on your neighbor's side as on your side.
